Len Vernamonti of Clinton, Miss., is National Treasurer.
Leonard R. “Len” Vernamonti of Clinton, MS is the National Treasurer of the Air Force Association, the Air Force Memorial Foundation and Air Force Veterans Benefits Association. He also serves on the AFA Executive Committee and as the Chairman of the Finance Committee and the President’s Evaluation and Compensation Committee.
He has been an AFA member since 1967 and a Life Member since 1984, and has served as a chapter, state and region president. He has been active at the national level since 1990, having served as a National Director, on the afa21 Field Structure Team, the Field Council, and Audit, Constitution, R&D, and Nominating Committees. He has received the AFA Exceptional Service Award and two AFA Medals of Merit.
Vernamonti’s over 40-year military and civilian professional careers have focused on management and finance. He was the Air Force Director of the National AeroSpace Plane Program, the comptroller for all USAF ballistic missile programs, and president, CEO and CFO of a non-profit with an operating budget twice that of the AFA. He currently serves as a senior consultant to the aerospace industry specializing in strategic planning, acquisition, and budget and cost analysis.
Vernamonti has a B.S. in economics from the USAF Academy and an M.S. in systems engineering from the University of Florida. He is a graduate of the National War College and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. Among Vernamonti’s military awards are the Defense Superior Service Medal, two Legions of Merit and the Republic of Vietnam Staff Service Medal, First Class.
He and his wife, Betty, have two children and three grandchildren.
