| Wednesday, February 01, 1961 -- The first Boeing LGM-30A Minuteman ICBM is launched from Cape Canaveral Missile Test Annex, Fla. It travels 4,600 miles and hits the target area.
| | Saturday, February 03, 1945 -- 959 B-17 crews carry out the largest raid to date against Berlin by American bombers.
| | Monday, February 03, 1964 -- Four airmen locked in a spaceship simulator exhibit no ill effects after exposure to a pure oxygen atmosphere for 30 days.
| | Monday, February 04, 1946 -- The Air Force Association is incorporated.
| | Sunday, February 05, 1905 -- T.S. Baldwin takes part in a 10-mile race between his dirigible and an automobile. The dirigible and its pilot win by a three-minute margin.
| | Tuesday, February 05, 1918 -- While flying as a substitute gunner with a French squadron, Lt. Stephen W. Thompson becomes the first American to record an aerial victory while in a US uniform. He shoots down a German Albatros D.III.

| | Sunday, February 09, 1969 -- Boeing conducts the first flight of the 747. The jumbo jet, with standard seating for 347 passengers, introduces high passenger volume to the world’s airways.
