Dear Aerospace Science Instructors:

The AFJROTC Grant was established to promote aerospace education throughout classrooms where funds currently are not available.

We hope you take this opportunity to enhance your students’ ideas on how aerospace plays a prominent role in today and tomorrow’s society. Applications will be judged by the importance and impact your selected aerospace activity will have on your students. Please do not let this chance to heighten your student’s interest in aerospace education activities pass by.

HOW THE AFJROTC GRANT WORKS:
  • Complete the form and attach the requested information. Please read over your application and double check that all required spaces are filled out completely.

  • AFJROTC Grants provide your units and classrooms with up to $250, every other academic year, to support classroom aerospace educational programs, opportunities, activities and interest when no funds are available.
AFJROTC GRANTS MAY BE USED FOR:
  • Funds may be used for any aerospace education related activity from purchasing textbooks or videotapes, to going on a field trip to an aerospace museum, Air Force base or other aerospace facility. You may not use the grant toward purchasing uniforms, honor guard or color guard activities, etc.
RECEIVING THE GRANT:
  • ASIs will receive the grant in one lump sum.

  • Funds may be divided between several aerospace activities. No additional paper work is required to do so, but please keep track of the funds.
CRITERIA:
  • One unit per school may receive a grant every other academic year.

  • Application will be processed quickly, but may take approximately 6-8 weeks to evaluate and process.

  • While the application alone is sufficient to process the grant, we would appreciate a one page double-spaced description of how you plan to use the grant.

  • Please let the Air Force Association know how your project turned out. Send them a few pages describing how successful your aerospace activity went, and the impact it had on you and your students. Also, they would appreciate any action photos that could be used in their national publications. Send them to: Air Force Association, 1501 Lee Highway, Arlington VA 22209-1198.
