Arlington, VA, September 12, 2002 -- The 2002 Air Force Association
National Convention and Aerospace Technology Exposition will highlight the
contributions of Air Force people in the global war on terrorism and the
pivotal role of air and space power plays in defense of the nation. It will
take place from September 15-18, 2002 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel,
Washington, D.C. The National Convention brings together AFA grass-roots
leaders from around the country to discuss association policies for the coming
year, and the Aerospace Technology Exposition showcases the latest technology
from across the defense industry.

Media Registration:
There is no pre-registration for media. Registration will be done on site
each morning of convention.
The media registration desk (located in the AFA Convention registration
lobby) will be open Monday, Sept. 16 - Tuesday, Sept. 17 from 8:00 a.m. until
5:00 p.m., and on Wednesday, Sept 18, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. News media
must show valid credentials from their agency (Press badge), photo
identification to enter ALL events and a business card if available to expedite
the registration process. If you are on assignment for another publication,
freelancing or researching, you must have a letter indicating this from the
publication’s editor along with photo identification. Media badges will be
issued at the media registration desk. Tickets for some eating events have been
reserved for media as guests only and will be issued on a first come
basis the day of the event. Soliciting or accepting orders for any product or
service (including advertising space) in the Exhibit Halls of any other Air
Force Association-controlled area of the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel is strictly
prohibited. Distribution of your organization’s publications or other
promotional material is also prohibited. AFA reserves the right to revoke the
privileges of anyone violating these restrictions. Updated information will be
posted in the media room at www.afa.org.
