The Honorable Michael Donley Secretary of the Air Force
Mr. Michael B. Donley is the Secretary of the Air Force, Washington, D.C. He is the 22nd Secretary and was confirmed Oct. 2, 2008. He is responsible for the affairs of the Department of the Air Force, including the organizing, training, equipping and providing for the welfare of its more than 333,000 men and women on active duty, 178,000 members of the Air National Guard and the Air Force Reserve, 182,000 civilians, and their families. He also oversees the Air Force's annual budget of more than $110 billion.

General Mark Welsh Chief of Staff of the Air Force
Gen. Mark A. Welsh III is Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C. As Chief, he serves as the senior uniformed Air Force officer responsible for the organization, training and equipping of 690,000 active-duty, Guard, Reserve and civilian forces serving in the United States and overseas. As a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the general and other service chiefs function as military advisers to the Secretary of Defense, National Security Council and the President.

General Philip Breedlove Commander, U.S. Air Forces Europe
Gen. Philip M. Breedlove is Commander, U.S. Air Forces in Europe; Commander, U.S. Air Forces Africa, Commander Air Component Command, Ramstein; and Director, Joint Air Power Competence Centre, Kalkar, Germany. He is responsible for Air Force activities, conducted through 3rd Air Force, in an area of operations covering more than 19 million square miles. This area includes 105 countries in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East, and the Arctic and Atlantic oceans, and possesses more than a quarter of the world's population and generates more than a quarter of the world's gross domestic product.

General Mike Hostage Commander, Air Combat Command
Gen. Mike Hostage is Commander, Air Combat Command, with headquarters at Langley Air Force Base, Va. As the commander, he is responsible for organizing, training, equipping and maintaining combat-ready forces for rapid deployment and employment while ensuring strategic air defense forces are ready to meet the challenges of peacetime air sovereignty and wartime defense. ACC operates more than 1,000 aircraft, 22 wings, 13 bases, and more than 300 operating locations worldwide with 79,000 active-duty and civilian personnel. When mobilized, the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve contribute more than 700 aircraft and 51,000 people to ACC. As the Combat Air Forces lead agent, ACC develops strategy, doctrine, concepts, tactics, and procedures for air- and space-power employment. The command provides conventional and information warfare forces to all unified commands to ensure air, space and information superiority for warfighters and national decision-makers. ACC can also be called upon to assist national agencies with intelligence, surveillance and crisis response capabilities.

General Janet Wolfenbarger Commander, Air Force Materiel Command
Gen. Janet C. Wolfenbarger serves as Commander, Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. The command's 83,000 people manage $60 billion annually in research, development, test and evaluation while providing the acquisition management services and logistics support required to develop, procure and sustain Air Force weapon systems.

General Paul J. Selva is Commander, Air Mobility Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill. Air Mobility Command's mission is to provide rapid, global mobility and sustainment for America's armed forces. The Honorable Whit Peters Partner at Williams & Connolly LLP
Whit Peters is a partner at Williams & Connolly LLP and former Secretary of the Air Force. Mr. Peters has written and spoken on defense policy issues, acquisition reform, legal ethics, and criminal law. In 2010, he was appointed to the Defense Science Board, a committee of civilian experts who advise the Department of Defense on scientific and technical matters. Mr. Peters has also served as chair of the District of Columbia Bar Committee on the Rules of Professional Conduct and as a member of the Bar’s Ethics Committee. He has been an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center and the Columbus School of Law at Catholic University.

The Honorable James Roche Former Secretary of the Air Force
James G. Roche served from 2001 to 2005 as the 20th Secretary of the United States Air Force. His responsibilities as the civilian leader of the Air Force included organizing, training and equipping the Air Force to fight the nation's wars as part of a Joint and/or Coalition Team. He was responsible for over 700,000 Active, Reserve, Guard and civilian airmen, and a budget in excess of $100 billion. Prior to his Air Force service, he was the Corporate Vice President and President of the Electronic Sensors and Systems Sector (ESSS) for Northrop Grumman Corporation. He is a retired Captain in the U.S. Navy, having commanded the USS Buchanan DDG-14. He holds a Doctorate from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration in the fields of Decision Analysis and Management Control (1972). He received his Master's Degree in Operations Research, with distinction, in 1966 from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, and his Bachelor of Science Degree in English Literature in 1960 from the Illinois Institute of Technology.

The Honorable Michael W. Wynne Former Secretary of the Air Force
Michael W. Wynne is currently serving on the Board of Advisors for the George Mason University Critical Infrastructure Protection Program, as a Director on the Air Force Academy Endowment Board, as Vice Chair for the Interoperability Clearinghouse and as well on the strategic advisory boards of energy, cyber, and international firms. He retired mid-2008 with 17 years of Federal Service, including service in the Air Force, and for the prior 7 years as the 21st Secretary of the Air Force, as well as the Undersecretary and Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics.

Lt. Gen. Stanley E. Clarke III is the Director, Air National Guard, the Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Lt. Gen. Burton M. Field is the deputy chief of staff for operations, plans and requirements, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C. He is responsible to the secretary of the Air Force and the chief of staff for formulating policy supporting air, space, irregular warfare, counterproliferation, homeland security, weather and cyber operations. As the Air Force operations deputy to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the general determines operational requirements, capabilities and training necessary to support national security objectives and military strategy.

Lt Gen David Deptula, USAF Ret. Former Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance
Lt Gen David A. Deptula, USAF (Ret) is a highly decorated military leader who transitioned in 2010 after more than 34 years of distinguished service. He has twice been a Joint Task Force Commander; was the principal attack planner for the Desert Storm air campaign that changed the character of modern warfare; he orchestrated air operations over Iraq in 1998/99, and Afghanistan in 2001 resulting in the overthrow of the Taliban regime; and was the Joint Force Air Component Commander for the 2005 South Asia tsunami relief. As the first Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff for intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), he transformed Air Force intelligence and remotely piloted aircraft enterprises setting a standard emulated by services and nations around the world. He has piloted more than 3,000 flying hours—400 in combat—to include multiple command assignments in the F-15. He is currently a board member on a variety of public, private and think-tank institutions; is a senior scholar at the US Air Force Academy; and a sought-after commentator around the world on defense; strategy; and ISR.

Rear Admiral Bruce Grooms Asst. Deputy CNO for Operations, Plans and Strategy
Rear Admiral Grooms, a US Naval Academy graduate, initially served in various capacities aboard submarines, including a tour as Executive Officer of USS Pasadena, where he twice deployed to the Persian Gulf. His command tours include leading USS Asheville, Submarine Squadron Six, and Submarine Group Two. His assignments on shore include Commandant of Midshipmen at the Naval Academy, Senior Military Assistant to the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy, Senior Inspector for the Nuclear Propulsion Examining Board, and Director of the Submarine Warfare Division. Previously he was Vice Director of the Joint Staff. He has a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering and a master’s in national security and strategic studies.

Maj Gen Lawrence Stutzriem, USAF Ret. Former Director, Plans Policy and Strategy for NORAD
Maj. Gen. Lawrence A. Stutzriem was the Director, Plans, Policy and Strategy, North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. He has commanded at the squadron, group and wing levels, including the 355th Wing at Davis-Monthan AFB, Ariz. Prior to his assignment at NORAD, he was Director, Chief of Staff of the Air Force Strategic Studies Group - CHECKMATE, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C.

Chief James A. Cody Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force
Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force James A. Cody represents the highest enlisted level of leadership, and as such, provides direction for the enlisted force and represents their interests, as appropriate, to the American public, and to those in all levels of government. He serves as the personal adviser to the Chief of Staff and the Secretary of the Air Force on all issues regarding the welfare, readiness, morale, and proper utilization and progress of the enlisted force. Chief Cody is the 17th chief master sergeant appointed to the highest noncommissioned officer position.

Dr. Richard Andres Senior Fellow and Energy and Environment Security and Policy Chair at INSS
Dr. Andres is a Senior Fellow and Energy and Environment Security and Policy Chair at INSS. His current work focuses on energy and environmental security and particularly defense related energy issues. Prior to joining INSS, Dr. Andres was a professor at Air University assigned to the Pentagon where he served as Special Advisor to the Secretary of the Air Force. He has also served as a consultant to the Office of the Secretary of Defense (during both the Clinton and Bush administrations), the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Office of Force Transformation, US Strategic Command, the Nuclear Posture Review, the Council on Foreign Relations and other organizations.

Dr. Michael Auslin Resident Scholar at American Enterprise Institute
Michael Auslin, AEI's director of Japan Studies, was an associate professor of history and senior research fellow at the MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies at Yale University prior to joining AEI. A frequent commentator in U.S. and foreign media, Mr. Auslin is also a columnist for the Wall Street Journal. His writings on Asia and Japan include the book Pacific Cosmopolitans: A Cultural History of U.S.-Japan Relations and the report Security in the Indo-Pacific Commons: Toward a Regional Strategy. He has been named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, a Marshall Memorial Fellow by the German Marshall Fund, and a Fulbright and Japan Foundation Scholar. He received his B.S. from Georgetown University, his M.A. from Indiana University and his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois.

Dr. Christopher Chivvis Senior Political scientist at the RAND Corporation
Chris Chivvis is a senior political scientist at the RAND Corporation and adjunct professor at the Johns Hopkins, Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced international Studies (SAIS). His research interests include European and Eurasian security, NATO, military interventions, and nation-building. Chivvis has served in the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Policy where he worked on Eurasian security issues and NATO-Russia cooperation. He has held research positions at the French Institute for International Relations (Ifri) in Paris and at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) in Berlin, and taught graduate courses at Johns Hopkins University, New York University, and Sciences Po in Paris.

Dr. Lani Kass Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategic Advisor for CACI
Dr. Lani Kass is Corporate Strategic Advisor and Senior Vice President for CACI International Inc, a $3.6 billion information solutions and services company. In this role, Dr. Kass leads corporate efforts to advance CACI's presence in the U.S. national security market, supports the development and evolution of CACI's corporate strategy, and supports the development and expansion of key client relationships. Dr. Kass also leads CACI's participation in the annual Asymmetric Threats symposia that the company has co-sponsored since 2008. Prior to joining CACI, Dr. Kass served as Senior Policy Advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff for three years.

Dr. Adam Lowther Defense Analyst at the Air Force Research Institute
Dr. Adam Lowther is a Defense Analyst at the Air Force Research Institute (AFRI), Maxwell AFB, AL. His principal research interests include deterrence, nuclear weapons policy, and terrorism. Dr. Lowther is the editor of Terrorism’s Unanswered Questions and the author of Americans and Asymmetric Conflict: Lebanon, Somalia, and Afghanistan. Prior to joining AFRI Dr. Lowther was an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Arkansas Tech University and Columbus State University, where he taught courses in international relations, political economy, security studies, and comparative politics. He received his undergraduate degree from Arizona State University; his masters degree from Arizona State University and his PhD from the University of Alabama.

Dr. Karl Mueller Senior Political Scientist at the RAND Corporation
Karl P. Mueller is the associate director of the Strategy, Doctrine, and Resources program at RAND Arroyo Center and a senior political scientist at the RAND Corporation. He specializes in research related to military and national security strategy, particularly coercion and deterrence. Mueller has written and lectured on a wide variety of national security subjects, including airpower theory, grand strategy, economic sanctions, nuclear proliferation, counterterrorism policy, and space weapons. He is currently working on projects about airpower and crisis stability, hybrid warfare, and the U.S.-Indian strategic partnership. Before joining RAND in 2001, Mueller was a professor of comparative military studies at the U.S. Air Force's School of Advanced Air and Space Studies. He is currently an adjunct professor in the Security Studies Program at Georgetown University. Mueller received his Ph.D. in politics from Princeton University.

Dr. Robert Owen Professor in the Department of Aeronautical Science at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
Robert C. Owen is a Professor in the Department of Aeronautical Science at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Daytona Beach Campus. In this position, he teaches courses in piloted and remotely piloted aviation operations, law, and history and conducts research in national defense policy issues. During a preceding 28-year career with the United States Air Force, Colonel Owen filled a mix of operational, staff, and advanced education assignments, culminating in service as the Dean of the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies and the Doctrine and Policy Division Chief at the Air Mobility Command. Dr. Owen’s publications include the Chronology volume of the Gulf War Air Power Survey (1995), Deliberate Force: A Case Study in Effective Air Campaigning (2000), and his manuscript, Air Mobility: A History of the American Experience is pending publication in the summer of 2013. He also is an Air Force Command Pilot with over 3400 hours of experience, and a Commercial Pilot with over 1000 hours in various civilian aircraft. He also works as an adjunct researcher for the RAND Corporation and the Air Force Research Institute.

Michael E. Zettler Vice President F-35 Sustainment for Lockheed Martin
Michael E. Zettler was selected as Vice President of F-35 Sustainment at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in August 2011. Mr. Zettler leads F-35 Sustainment strategy & implementation, both domestically and internationally. He is responsible for building collaborative relationships with the Joint Program Office, the U.S. Services and the partner countries to provide cost-effective F-35 logistics solutions. Prior to his career with Lockheed Martin, Mr. Zettler served in the U.S Air Force for more than 30 years. In his role as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Installations and Logistics, he was responsible for strategic planning, detailed policy development, and budgeting resources.

James M. Zortman Sector Vice President, Life Cycle Logistics and Support for Northrop Grumman
James M. Zortman is sector vice president, Life Cycle Logistics and Support, for Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems. Zortman provides sector-level leadership of the full spectrum of logistics and product support functions. He is responsible for ensuring that the same excellence in integration now represented in design and production at Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is also fully exploited in anticipation and fulfillment of product support requirements. Zortman joined Northrop Grumman in January 2008 following a career in the U.S. Navy, where he attained the rank of vice admiral. He served as commander Naval Air Forces and chief executive officer, Naval Aviation Enterprise.
