General Kevin P. Chilton

General Kevin P. Chilton is Commander, Air Force Space Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. He is responsible for the development, acquisition and operation of the Air Force’s space and missile systems. The command oversees a global network of satellite command and control, communications, missile warning and launch facilities, and ensures the combat readiness of America’s intercontinental ballistic missile force. From 1988 to 1996, he was an astronaut for NASA and is a veteran of three space shuttle missions, logging over 704 hours in space. General Chilton is the first astronaut to achieve 4-star rank from any military service.

Lieutenant General C. Robert "Bob" Kehler

Lt. Gen. C. Robert "Bob" Kehler is Deputy Commander, U.S. Strategic Command, Offutt Air Force Base, NE. General Kehler has held numerous missile crew, instructor, evaluator and key wing-level staff positions. He was also assigned to the Secretary of the Air Force's Office of Legislative Liaison, where he was the point man on Capitol Hill for matters regarding the president's ICBM Modernization Program. As chair of a panel on space superiority and nuclear deterrence, the General managed the $45 billion Air Force space program through the corporate resource allocation process. Most recently, as Director, National Security Space Integration, Office of the Undersecretary of the Air Force, he developed and advocated policy for space operations worldwide.

The Honorable Ronald M. Sega

Dr. Ronald M. Sega is Under Secretary of the Air Force, Washington, DC. Dr. Sega is responsible for all actions of the Air Force on behalf of the Secretary of the Air Force and is acting Secretary in the Secretary's absence. In that capacity, he oversees the recruiting, training and equipping of more than 710,000 people, and a budget of approximately $110 billion. Designated the Department of Defense Executive Agent for Space, Dr. Sega develops, coordinates and integrates plans and programs for space systems and the acquisition of all DoD space major defense acquisition programs. Prior to this, he served as the Director of Defense Research and Engineering, Office of the Secretary of Defense. Dr. Sega is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and his active-duty assignments included instructor pilot and Department of Physics faculty member at that institution. He entered the Air Force Reserve in 1982 and retired as a major general and command pilot with more than 4,000 flying hours. Dr. Sega joined NASA as an astronaut in 1990, making two shuttle flights in 1994 (Discovery) and 1996 (Atlantis). He completed his astronaut tenure with 420 hours in space.

Major General William L. Shelton

Maj. Gen. William L. Shelton is Commander, 14th Air Force, Air Force Space Command, and the Commander, Joint Functional Component Command for Space, U.S. Strategic Command, Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. Fourteenth Air Force, the historic "Flying Tigers," is responsible for all U.S. Air Force space forces, including missile warning, space control, space-based surveillance, navigation and communications, satellite control, space launch and assigned and attached USSTRATCOM space forces. On behalf of USSTRATCOM, JFCC SPACE coordinates, integrates and executes space operations to provide tailored, responsive space effects to accomplish national objectives and support combatant commanders. General Shelton entered the Air Force in 1976 as a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy. He has served in various assignments, including research and development testing, space operations and staff work.Prior to assuming his current position, General Shelton was the Director of Plans and Policy (J5), USSTRATCOM, at Offutt AFB, Neb.
