| Since it’s founding in 1946, the Air Force Association has worked with the aerospace industry and the U.S. Air Force in common cause to assure the United States has the best equipment, systems and people. To that end AFA formed its Industrial Associate program in 1952 with a primary focus on offering its member companies introductions to Air Force and DoD leadership so that together we could meet that objective.
Our Air Force is the most respected and feared air force in the world. This did not happen by accident; it came about through the vision, sacrifice and persistence of many dedicated people. Today our preeminence in air, space, and cyberspace is threatened by an unprecedented combination of forces. Our Air Force, after nearly two decades of constant combat, is operating the oldest fleet in its history. Our nation faces the most serious economic crisis seen in most of our lifetimes. At the same time other nations and non-state actors are rapidly increasing their techno¬logical and human capacity to place our national security at risk. These times call for a new and more compre¬hensive partnership to meet this historic challenge. As such, the Industrial Associate program is being phased out and will cease operation December 31, 2009.
The Association’s goal has been and continues to be to provide the aerospace industry with value added service as a benefit of their participation with us. As we look to the future, AFA is pleased to announce a new Corporate Membership Program. This new program will provide numerous opportunities to bring your products and programs to the attention of decision-makers at every level.
