12/18/2006 - ARLINGTON, Va. – With the theme “Striking the Balance: Today’s War, Tomorrow’s
Threats, Future Technology” top military leaders will examine air warfare at the start of the new century and what
the future may hold for the Air Force at the 23rd Annual Air Warfare Symposium Feb. 8-9, 2007.
Air, space and cyberspace power is the domain of US military capabilities.
Total situational awareness of the battle space brings asymmetrical advantages with a host of opportunities
as America's defense addresses current threats while transforming to meet future needs. Whether it is
intelligence provided by a spacecraft in geosynchronous orbit; streaming video courtesy of the Predator
unmanned aerial vehicle to the warfighter on the ground coordinating operations, an F-16 providing close air
support precision strike or detecting hostile ground activity, or fuel from a tanker crew, air warfare is
being challenged and is evolving in ways never seen before.
Speakers include Secretary of the Air Force Michael W. Wynne, Air Force Chief
of Staff Gen. T. Michael Moseley, Commander of Air Combat Command, Gen. Ronald E. Keys, Commander of US
Strategic Command, Gen. James E. Cartwright, Commander of Air Force Materiel Command, Gen. Bruce Carlson,
Commander of Pacific Air Forces, Gen. Paul V. Hester and General Duncan J. McNabb, Commander, Air Mobility Command.
