Subsequently, he was a senior consultant with SYSCON Corporation in Washington, DC, where he assisted in the design and implementation of naval radar detection systems.

Marrs retired from Air Force Reserve in 1996 at the rank of lieutenant colonel. He has received many honors, including the AFA Medal of Merit, two Air Force Commendation Medals and four civilian superior performance cash awards.
