An Aerospace Education Foundation and Eaker Institute Breakfast Series on the FY 2003 Defense Budget

February 27, 2002, Arlington, VA -- The Eaker Institute, the public policy and research arm of the Aerospace Education Foundation will host a breakfast at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at the Air Force Association building featuring the Honorable Stephen Cambone, Principal Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Policy.

Dr. Cambone will address such topics as the FY 2003 Defense Budget, funding for air and space programs, precision weapons, unmanned aircraft, and missile defense. A question and answer session will follow. The administration's defense budget for FY 2003 proposes $379.3 billion in spending.

Dr. Cambone is an expert on the subject of ballistic missile defense, having served as the Staff Director for the Commission to Assess U.S. National Security Space Management and Organization while also serving as the Director of Research for the Institute for National Strategic Studies at the National Defense University. Cambone held the position of staff director for the Commission to Assess the Ballistic Missile Threat to the United States in 1998 and was a Senior Fellow of Political-Military Studies at the Center for Strategic and International Studies from 1993 to 1998.
