Air Force Association Elects National Treasurer

Arlington, VA, September 23, 2005—The Air Force Association (AFA) recently elected Steven R. Lundgren of Fairbanks, Alaska, as National Treasurer during the AFA National Convention in Washington, DC.

Lundgren, who was elected by the delegates to the convention, will begin his first term on October 1, 2005.

Currently, he is Senior Vice President and a member of the Senior Management Committee for Mt. McKinley Bank, the largest community bank in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Lundgren is a 20-year AFA member. He began as a Community Partner and has served AFA in many leadership positions, including Chapter, State, and Region President. He currently serves on the association’s Finance Committee, and is the AFA Alaska Leadership Development Director and the Fairbanks Chapter Community Partner Vice President.

He is a member of the Alaskan Command Civilian Advisory Board; a member and Vice Chair of the Alaska State Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR); and a member of the Board of the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce and its Military Affairs Committee. He is also on the board of the Fairbanks Economic Development Corporation and a member of the Fairbanks Sunrisers Rotary Club.

A recipient of numerous awards, Lundgren has received the AFA Exceptional Service Award and Presidential Citation, and the 2004 ESGR Spirit of Volunteerism Award.

Lundgren graduated from Oregon State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and has completed graduate studies at Portland State University and the University of Alaska. He attended the American Bankers Association National Commercial Lending School in 1991 and the ABA National Commercial Lending Graduate School in 1992 at the University of Oklahoma.

He and his wife, Susan, have three children.
