Air Force Association Releases 2007 Statement of Policy, Top Issues
10/10/2006 - ARLINGTON, Va. – The Air Force Association delegates approved the organization’s annual Statement of Policy and Top Issues for 2007 at the annual National Convention and Air & Space Conference and Technology Exhibition, Sept. 22-27 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, Washington, D.C.
Titled, "Investing Now In Airpower for Tomorrow," the document represent’s AFA’s position on important matters pertaining to those who have served in the total Air Force, as well as key modernization and national security issues. It is a valuable resource tool in communicating with members of Congress, and community and media relations efforts.
The 2007 Statement of Policy and Top Issues is a result of a deliberative process that includes input from all elements of the AFA’s grassroots network including the six Air Force councils: enlisted, company grade, Air National Guard, Reserve, civilian, and veterans and retirees. Additionally, there is input from the AFA Force Capabilities Committee, AFA state and chapter organizations, as well as individual members and the AFA staff.
Reviews are conducted by the association’s key policy making bodies including the executive committee, board of directors, and delegates. The delegates approve and modify the statement at the annual convention.
