AFA Announces Awards to Outstanding Civil Air Patrol, JROTC and ROTC Cadets
Arlington, VA – The Air Force Association (AFA) today announced the 2009 awards Civil Air Patrol squadrons, ROTC detachments, and Junior ROTC high school units.
Among these awards are the Outstanding Cadet of the Year from each detachment or unit; the AFA Silver Medal for the Outstanding Aerospace Studies 300 Cadet from each Air Force ROTC detachment; the AFA Bronze Medal for the Outstanding Junior Year Cadet in an Air Force Junior ROTC unit, accompanied by a certificate and ribbon; and an AFA CAP Cadet medal to the Outstanding CAP Cadet of each CAP Squadron, a Silver Medal is accompanied by a ribbon (in sky blue) and a certificate.
“We’re so pleased to be able to recognize each of these hard-working cadets,” said S. Sanford Schlitt, Vice Chairman of the Board for Aerospace Education. “Each of them has stood out to their commander and peers for their efforts and focus. We’re proud of them.”
“These cadets are known for rolling up their sleeves and getting to the job at hand. They’ve earned the recommendation of their detachment commander,” said Mike Dunn, President of AFA. “Congratulations to each on a well-deserved award, and a great start on a bright future.”
