Mitchell Institute to Release Paper, 'The Tanker Imperative' Dr. Rebecca Grant to Present Report at AFA April 30
Arlington, VA – Arlington, VA – The Mitchell Institute for Airpower Studies will release a new Mitchell Paper, “The Tanker Imperative,” at 9:30 a.m. April 30, 2009 at Air Force Association national headquarters in Rosslyn, Va.
Dr. Rebecca Grant, the Institute’s director and author of the paper, will present her report and be available for questions. Her study presents a fact-based assessment of the tanker mission, its requirements, and the possible consequences of failure to modernize the fleet of aircraft that supports this pivotal mission.
AFA, at 1501 Lee Highway, Arlington, VA 22209 next to the Key Bridge Marriott, has available parking and is readily accessible by Metro’s Orange and Blue lines at Rosslyn. The presentation will be in AFA’s fourth floor conference room.
Dr. Grant is Director of the Mitchell Institute and Senior Fellow at the non-profit Lexington Institute. She is an author and one of the nation’s foremost air, space, and cyber power analysts, with nearly 20 years of experience in Washington, D.C. In the early 1990s, she worked for both the Secretary of the Air Force and the Chief of Staff of the Air Force. She is a graduate of Wellesley College and the London School of Economics.
