AFA Announces 2009 National Aerospace Awards
Arlington, VA – The Air Force Association (AFA) is pleased to announce award recipients for the National Aerospace and Specialty Awards programs.
Many of the awards will be presented at ceremonies during AFA’s 2009 Air & Space Conference and Technology Exhibition scheduled for September 14-16, at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center.

Among this year’s highlights:
- The W. Stuart Symington Award to Senator Orrin Hatch of Utah.
- The AFA Lifetime Achievement Awards to the Doolittle Raiders, the Tuskegee Airmen and Dr. James Schlesinger.
- The John R. Alison Award to General Atomics Aeronautical Systems for the MQ-9 Reaper.
- The H. H. Arnold Award to General John D. W. Corley.
- The AFA Chairman’s Aerospace Education Award to Exxon Mobil Corp.
Presenters at the Opening Ceremonies and Awards Ceremonies on September 14th include Secretary of the Air Force Michael B. Donley, Chief of Staff of the Air Force General Norton A. Schwartz, Commanders from the Air Force’s Major Commands, and AFA’s Chairman of the Board Joseph Sutter.
