AFA Honors US Military on Armed Forces Day

Arlington, VA – The Air Force Association (AFA) recognizes the service of America’s all-volunteer Armed Forces. The third Saturday in May (16 May 2009) has been proclaimed Armed Forces Day by the President.

“We are safe and free because of the dedication of the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces. The strength of these forces helps secure the prosperity and liberty of untold millions around the globe. We are immensely proud of everyone that wears a uniform of a branch of the United States military today. Each of them has made a patriotic choice to serve and assume the risk of great sacrifice for our country. Thank you for answering the call of our country to service and the cause of freedom. The next generation of Americans can look forward to the same opportunities because of your decision.”
