Transformers 3 to Set Air Force Memorial on Big Screen
Arlington, VA – Film crews for Michael Bay’s third installment of the Transformers movie franchise will be shooting footage of the latest blockbuster throughout the DC area, including Arlington’s very own Air Force Memorial.
The Air Force Memorial hosts more than 200,000 visitors and is the scene for more than 200 ceremonies, special events, wreath laying, tours, weddings and United States Air Force Band concerts throughout the year. But on Monday, October 11, 2010, it is entering the world of Hollywood.
Transformers, the ambitious sci-fi action feature, stars Shia LaBeouf and Josh Duhamel, along with the infamous Optimus Prime and Megatron as they fight for humankind's survival.
Throughout filming and preparations, the Arlington County Police Department will close the westbound curb lane all day and officers will be providing traffic control from 5:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M.
