AFA’s Mitchell Hour Covers Air Force Quadrennial Defense Review
ARLINGTON, Va. -- The Air Force Association’s Mitchell Institute for Airpower Studies welcomes Maj. Gen. Steven Kwast, Director, Air Force Quadrennial Defense Review, Office of the Air Force Assistant Vice Chief of Staff, as the guest speaker for an upcoming Mitchell Hour.
This Mitchell event will take place on Wednesday, March 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at AFA’s national headquarters at 1501 Lee Highway, Arlington, VA, next to the Key Bridge Marriott. The presentation will be in AFA’s fourth floor boardroom.
General Kwast’s organization serves as the focal point for Air Force participation in the QDR and assists senior Air Force leaders in making decisions regarding long-range initiatives, future concepts, and strategic options to continually refine Air Force strategy and capabilities to mitigate risk against uncertainty over the next 20 years.
The general was commissioned upon graduation from the United States Air Force Academy in 1986. After completing a master's degree in public policy from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, he was assigned to undergraduate pilot training where he earned his pilot wings in June 1989. General Kwast has served as military aide to the Vice President and completed a National Defense Fellowship with the Institute for the Study of conflict, Ideology and Policy at Boston University, Mass.
