One Hundred Sixty-Six Percent Increase in Educator Applications

Ann Sagle, Manager, Field Education Programs, reported that 412 applications were received for the 2009 Educator Grants. Application numbers increased 166% over the 248 received last year. Scoring of the applications has been completed, 114 teachers have been selected, and winners have been notified. Award checks totaling $28,103 and congratulatory letters have also been dispatched. All chapter/state/regions with winners will receive electronic notification to include names and contact information.
