Aerospace Workshop in Miami

The Miami Chapter of AFA and the Miami-Dade schools held an Aerospace Education Teacher Workshop on February 6 at the George T. Baker Aviation School.

The slate of speakers included the Honorable Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Alberto Carvalho, Miami-Dade Superintendent of Schools. Les Gold, education specialist from NASA, and Barrington Irving, the youngest aviator to ever fly solo around the world, addressed the audience.

In addition to education benefits derived from the workshop, educators received breakfast, lunch, door prizes and a tour of the aviation school.
