| AFA Florida Convention Hosts WASP
 Gold Coast Chapter 351 hosted the AFA Florida State Convention on July 9-10 at the Gallary One Doubletree Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale. Special invitees included Florine Maloney, Shirley Kruse, Tex Meachem and Helen Snapp. These 92-years young ladies from the local area were former members of the Women's Air Force Service Pilots (WASP).
The ladies were featured speakers at the dinner program during the convention. Each spoke of experiences they encountered as they served during the two year WASP program (September 1942 - December 1944). The crowd was howling with laughter with some of their antics. The ladies were funny, informative and told great stories. Each were presented citations from AFA Florida honoring their service. The Gold Coast Chapter gave each of them an AFA purse caddy as a gift.
