TO: AFA Region and State Presidents

SUBJECT:

National Convention Delegate Selection Procedure, State Voting Strength and Delegate Certification

The enclosed attachments define and describe the Delegate Voting Strength allocation, selection, and certification procedures to be followed for the 2003 National Convention as documented in the National Constitution (Article IX, Section 2.) Basic criteria for Delegate qualification are based upon the following:

  • Current AFA membership (does not include Patrons or Cadets)
  • Presence at the convention
  • Paid convention registration fee

You are requested to carefully read these procedures. Please address any questions you have to Sylvia French, Chief/Field Services, at AFA Headquarters.

Advance Delegate Rosters are due to the AFA Credentials Committee, at AFA Headquarters NOT LATER THAN AUGUST 22, 2003. Final certification of Delegates with the Credentials Committee is required at the National Convention (see attachment 2).
