Increase AFA Awareness … and Membership
Consider launching a “Bring Your AIR FORCE Magazine to Work” campaign.
When you display the Magazine, your colleagues not only get to enjoy a great publication but you
directly contribute to AFA’s commitment to educate others about the Air Force and the critical
role of airpower in our nation’s defense. You also increase their understanding of the
Association and its mission. Often people who are familiar with the magazine don’t realize what
else the Association does. Here’s a chance to let them know.
It’s also a wonderful opportunity for you to show how your chapter activities support the local
community, be it military, civilian or both. Also consider including a brief flyer that sets out
your chapter’s projects and accomplishments.
Finally, it can help in your membership recruitment. It gives you an opportunity to talk to
people about your commitment to your chapter. From there it’s a small step to provide them with
an application, or the website, and encourage them to join. To help with this, be sure that each
magazine has something affixed to it that clearly provides pertinent chapter information.
For more than 60 years, AIR FORCE Magazine has stood at the top of the world’s publications in
the fields of air and space power, aerospace technology, and defense. It is a one-of-a-kind
magazine -- a visually striking, in-depth, professionally produced publication devoted exclusively
to coverage of the United States Air Force. Thus, AIR FORCE Magazine should be the first magazine
available in the office of any aerospace professional or AFA member.
