USPS Address Change Service and AFA

Several chapters have inquired about AFA’s address verification procedures. AFA subscribes to the USPS Address Change Service (ACS) to verify and update our membership records. Each month, all of the addresses of current members are verified through the ACS service before the monthly magazine is sent out. Any corrections or updates we receive are then updated in our database.

What does this mean for AFA chapters? As long as you are using a current membership list, all addresses are current and accurate according to the USPS standards within 30 days. However, if you are attempting to recruit expired members to rejoin AFA, then the addresses will only be current as of the expiration month of the membership.
