CyberPatriot IV Needs You!

The Air Force Association’s CyberPatriot program, sponsored by Northrop Grumman, is about to enter its fourth exciting season of competition.

And as CyberPatriot IV begins, CyberPatriot III competition is concluding a highly successful year that attracted 660 high schools in 48 states and several overseas locations. The Championships for both the All Service and Open Divisions will be held at the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center, National Harbor, Maryland on March 31 – April 1, 2011. In addition to the CyberPatriot finals, AFA will conduct the first-ever CyberFutures Conference and Technology Exposition that will also include a Technology Career Fair.

The goals for CyberPatriot IV are even more ambitious, including registering 2500 total schools competing – up to 1250 in each division. Registration will open on April 1st and close on October 8th. The online competition rounds run from October 2011 through January 2012, and this year in-person semifinals for both divisions are planned for Orlando at AFA’s Air Warfare Symposium, February 23-24, 2012. The National Championships will again be at the Gaylord in conjunction with the second CyberFutures Conference on March 22-23, 2012.

Every AFA chapter can be a part of achieving this ambitious goal while helping make our country stronger by exciting and motivating our high school youth toward a career in cyber security or another science, technology, education, and mathematics discipline. We most need your help to get the word out to the thousands of high schools across the country and recruiting those 2500 teams. A packet of information to assist you will be on its way to you when this edition of NEWSLINE is published.
