2011 National Volunteer Appreciation Month
April is National Volunteer Appreciation Month, and we would like to pause to recognize and thank those who help make us the Force
behind the Force. At its core, AFA is a grassroots membership organization, and we are supported at every level by the men and women
who help advance the AFA mission. Thanks to the precious time, guidance, and commitment by our volunteers and members, we continue
to EDUCATE the public about the critical role of aerospace power in the defense of our nation, ADVOCATE aerospace power and a strong
national defense, and SUPPORT the United States Air Force, the Air Force Family, and aerospace education. These volunteers inspire many
through profound leadership, countless hours and immeasurable amounts of energy to AFA.
By volunteering time, knowledge, and energy, we have reached over 115,000 AFA members and 150,000 students involved with the Visions of
Exploration program. There are countless others whose lives have been touched through AFA’s successes on Capitol Hill, reports from the
Mitchell Institute, visits to the Air Force Memorial, professional development and scholarships, grants and awards given each year.
Thank you for all you do for AFA!
