IRS Group Exemption

If the IRS were in charge in Afghanistan, the Taliban would’ve surrendered years ago out of frustration … We are still exchanging letters with the IRS as we pass the third anniversary of the Group Exemption request (it was submitted 10 July 2006). Our attorney is drafting what he refers to as “the final letter” and is asking that the determination be moved from the Cincinnati office to IRS HQ – we’ll see. I would like to express my personal thanks to six field leaders who have been the “pillars” supporting the effort (over two years ago, the IRS picked five field units and has been requesting information on them ever since. The “lucky five” are:

Dan Callahan, AFA 230 Callahan Chapter, TN
Nancy Driscoll, AFA 257 Bob Hope Chapter, CA
Pete Lane, AFA 391 Denton Chapter, TX
Tom O’Shea, then Jesse Wayland, Illinois State AFA
John McCance, Ohio State AFA

Buy them a drink when you see them at convention – they’ve earned it!
