Resolutions Due August 5

AFA Field Organizations (or any AFA member) have a formal opportunity each year to add issues for consideration by the National Convention through the Resolutions process laid out in the Operations and Procedures Manual, paragraph VI.A.2. For a resolution to be considered “timely,” it must be submitted no later than 45 days prior to the official opening of the Convention, which this year is August 5, 2011. Resolutions received after that date will require a 2/3 vote of the Delegates to be considered by the Convention. If you wish to submit a resolution, send an e-mail to National Secretary Joan Sell (joansell@member.afa.org) and Mary Nauheimer at AFA HQ (mnauheimer@afa.org) with the specific action, position, change in procedure, etc., that is to be accomplished if the resolution is adopted. Include a concise description of the issue with rationale for adopting the proposed resolution. If you have already submitted a resolution and wish to check status prior to the deadline, contact Mary Nauheimer at AFA HQ (mnauheimer@afa.org).
