Field Resources

Newsline is 20 Years Old

The first issue of Newsline was published November 1991. Its objective was to streamline and reduce the amount of mail the field received from AFA Headquarters. The newsletter format was used to consolidate the many memoranda that were previously sent.

At its beginning, it was a monthly paper newsletter mailed to the field. In April 2003, an electronic version was made available on the website with a monthly email notification to the field which has saved as few trees as well as a few dollars in postage.

I have been privileged to be its editor for these past 20 years. The December issue is my last as editor. This responsibility really belongs in Field Operations. So, Kari Hahn, AFA’s Director of Membership and Field Operations, will be responsible for Newsline starting with the January 2012 issue.
