AFA Scholarship and Grant Opportunities

The Air Force Association Spouse Scholarship

This scholarship is designed to encourage Air Force spouses worldwide to pursue associate/bachelor undergraduate or graduate/postgraduate degrees. The application process runs from January to April, 2010.

The Jodi Callahan Memorial Scholarship

The Jodi Callahan Memorial Graduate Scholarship provides financial assistance and recognition to an active duty Air Force full time guard or reserve (officer or enlisted person who is pursuing a Master’s degree in a non-technical field.) The application process runs from January to June.

Pitsenbarger Awards

Pitsenbarger Awards provide a one-time grant of $400 to selected top active duty, guard and reserve enlisted personnel graduating from the Community College of the Air Force who plan to pursue a baccalaureate degree. Grants coincide with the CCAF graduation ceremonies held each spring and fall.

Grantham University Scholarship

This full four-year scholarship for an active duty dependent, an AFA member or a dependent of an AFA member incorporates furthering education in the study of science, mathematics, technology or engineering through distance learning. The application process runs from April through mid-June.

The Lt Col Romeo and Josephine Bass Ferretti Scholarship

This scholarship was made possible by an endowment provided by Lt Col and Mrs. Ferretti, long time supporters of the Air Force Association and advocates of education. The late Lt Col Ferretti served in the Air Force for more than 23 years and Mrs. Ferretti was a high school teacher. The application process runs from January through June.

AFROTC Scholarship This scholarship program was created by the Air Force Association in partnership with the First Command Educational Foundation to provide two (2) scholarships in the amount of $5000 each to highly qualified AFROTC cadets, coming into their junior or senior year in the fall of 2010 and committed to course of study in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM).

Air Force Excellence Scholarship This scholarship program was created by the Air Force Association in partnership with the First Command Educational Foundation to provide five (5) scholarships in the amount of $3000 each to students to have achieved academic excellence and contributed to their community in a significant way.

Four Year Degree to Grantham University

Grantham's online degree programs are purposely different from some other online degree programs. Grantham has modeled its online programs so they can be completed from anywhere Internet access is available. Grantham does not require students to log-on to the Internet at specific times or days or to appear at the University for exams.
