Submission Deadline for New Member Credit

Please note that June is the last month to submit new members to qualify for the Jack Gross Award. For information on the award, please go to AFA's web site and look at the fact sheet for Membership Awards at http://www.afa.org/members/awdfcts.asp.

To see the standings as of March 2007, look under Unit Performance and click on Jack Gross Awards at http://www.afa.org/members/field.asp.

Make sure you take into account that in order for a chapter to get recruitment credit for new members in a particular month or quarter, the new member application and payment must arrive at AFA headquarters by the last day of the month or the quarter. Applications received later than the last day of the month are not processed until all the applications received at AFA during the reporting month are processed.

Since chapters often send in large numbers of new member applications at the end of the quarter, it often takes AFA staff several days to enter all these new members. We normally close the month two business days after the last day of the month. Once we have processed all the applications received by the last day of the month, we begin our end of the month process which produces the award standings and the membership reports (monthly and quarterly reports). It is only after this is completed that we process the applications received during the first few days of the new month.
