Delegate Convention and Conference Registration

To insure you have the accommodations and tickets you want to have, you must do two separate things.

  • Register for the Convention and/or the Air & Space Conference and Technology Exposition
  • Make your hotel reservation
If you will be serving as a Delegate to the National Convention, you must register and pay your Delegate fee. You may register in two ways.
  1. Online at www.afa.org. Click on the conference logo to get to the registration page

  2. OR
  3. Use the paper registration form attached. The paper form is also available on AFA's web site. If you mail or fax your registration to us, be sure to put it to the attention of Field Services.

Registration will open in early June and will close September 14, 2007.

AFA will send out an email to Newsline recipients as soon as registration is ready on the web site.

This year the National Convention and Air & Space Conference and Technology Exposition are being held in conjunction with the Global Air Chiefs Conference. Our conference hotel, the Marriott Wardman Park, is in the process of renovating all of their sleeping rooms. These two factors limit the supply of rooms at the Marriott Wardman Park. To assist our Delegates and other attendees, we have secured additional room blocks at the nearby Omni Shoreham as well as at the Hilton Washington and The Churchill Hotel which are a few blocks away. Shuttle bus service will be provided from the Hilton Washington and The Churchill Hotel.

In order to receive the contracted rates for these hotels, you must make your hotel reservation through our housing office. The phone number and weblink for the housing office will be provided in the email that will go out early in June.

Once AFA provides the contact information for our housing office, you will need to act as soon as possible to reserve one of the rooms in AFA's room blocks. If you register online for the Conference, there will be a "next step" button to move you to the hotel reservation process.

For the Marriott Wardman Park _ a three-night minimum stay is required. The rate is $195 single or $225 double plus taxes.

For the Omni Shoreham — a two-night minimum stay is required. There are a number of rooms at the rate of $195 single or $215 double plus taxes. However, when these rooms are full the rate will be $209 single or $229 double plus taxes.

When contacting our housing office, you will be assigned to one of these two hotels based on the number of nights you are staying. If all rooms are filled by the time you call, your reservation will be booked at either the Hilton Washington or The Churchill Hotel. The rate for either is $195 single or $215 double plus taxes with no minimum night stay.

Important Notes:

  • The hotels will not accept reservations for an AFA room block on their direct line or through their websites. These must be made through our housing office.
  • A deposit of one room night will be charged by the hotel where you are staying one month prior to the Convention/Conference.
  • Cancellations on or before September 7, 2007, will be at no charge. After September 7, you will forfeit one night's charge.
  • There will be no exceptions to the minimum nights stay for the Marriott Wardman Park or the Omni Shoreham.
  • Make your reservations as soon as possible since the hotels have cut-off dates beginning August 2. After this date, you may not be able to get the reservation or rate you want at your preferred hotel.

You can expect an immediate confirmation from the housing company when you book your accommodations, and then a reminder as the Convention/Conference dates approach that will have your hotel confirmation number included.

Alternative hotel reservation opportunities are available to you at any time, however, there is no special delegate rate at the alternative properties. Our housing office is happy to assist you with alternatives.
