Hotel Reservation and Convention/Conference Registration Information 2008 AFA National Convention and Air & Space Conference

IMPORTANT! Registration and hotel reservations open May 1, 2008
To insure you have the accommodations and tickets you want to have, you must do two separate things:

FIRST -- REGISTER FOR THE CONVENTION AND/OR THE AIR & SPACE CONFERENCE

If you will be serving as a delegate to the National Convention, you must register and pay your delegate fee. You may register in two ways:
ONLINE at WWW.AFA.ORG. Click on the conference logo to get to the registration page.
Via mail. Attached is a registration form to fill out and mail.

SECOND – MAKE YOUR HOTEL RESERVATION
The National Convention and Air & Space Conference is being held in the Marriott Wardman Park, however, not all attendees will be able to secure rooms at the Marriott Wardman Park. To assist our delegates and other a ttendees we have secured additional room blocks at the nearby Omni Shoreham. You need to act NOW to reserve one of the rooms in AFA’s room blocks:

Contact our housing office online through our website, click on the conference logo and then click on the hotel button located within the menu or by calling 1-866-281-3606. (When you register online, there will be a “next step” button to move you to the hotel reservation process.)

For the Marriott – a two night stay is required. The rate is $201 single or $231 double plus tax.

For the Omni-Shoreham – There are a number of rooms at the rate of $201 single or $221 double plus tax. However, when these rooms are full the rate will be $231 single or $251 double.

Important Notes:

  • The hotels will not accept reservations for an AFA room block on their direct line. These must be made through our housing office.
  • A deposit of one room night may be charged one month prior to the Convention/Conference by your hotel.
  • Cancellations on or before August 28, 2008, will be at no charge. After August 28, one night’s charge will be forfeited.
  • There will be no exceptions to the minimum nights stay for the Marriott.
  • Make your reservations as soon as possible since the hotels have cut-off dates and if you wait you may not be able to get the reservation you want at the hotel you want.
You can expect an immediate confirmation from the housing company and then a reminder as the Convention/Conference dates approach that will have your hotel confirmation included.
