AFA Nominees for 2009-2010

The AFA Nominating Committee met on April 17, 2009, and selected candidates to send forward for the five national officer positions and three elective National Director positions on the Board of Directors. The Committee consists of the three most recent past Chairman of the Board, one representative selected by each of the Vice Chairmen of the Board (Aerospace Education and Field Operations), two representatives each from the Central and East geographic areas, one representative from each of the regions in the West geographic area, and one person representing each of the following constituencies – Total Air Force, Air Force veterans, and aerospace industry.

The slate will be presented to the delegates at the National Convention in Washington D.C. in September. The Nominating Committee used guidance provided by the Chairman of the Board (See February Newsline http://www.afa.org/members/nwsline/feb09/nomcom.asp) to evaluate potential candidates for the various positions in their search, recruitment and nomination process.

The candidates’ names and a brief summary of their background (except for incumbents who are unopposed) are below. Further biographical information will be in a future edition of Newsline and in the August issue of AIR FORCE Magazine.

  • Eric Taylor (PA) – Member, Strategic Planning Committee; former region, state and chapter president
  • David Vesely (MD) – Senior VP, SAIC, AF Strategic Account Executive; active chapter program committee chair; former Assistant Vice Chief of Staff, USAF
