Global Warfare Symposium

Thursday, November 20 – Friday, November 21, 2008
The Beverly Hilton | 9876 Wilshire Blvd | Beverly Hills, CA 90210 | 310-274-7777

The Air Force Association’s 2008 Global Warfare Symposium will be held in Los Angeles, CA, November 20-21, 2008, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. This timely symposium will coincide with the conclusion of Los Angeles Air Force Week.

AFA has changed the emphasis of this annual symposium from Space to Global Warfare to include the important role the Air Force plays in the world today and has increased this annual single-day event into a two-day symposium. We have invited multiple speakers to inform our audience on a range of topics such as UAVs and cyberspace. As always, our national symposiums attract the top echelon of USAF senior management and commanders, the aerospace community and academia. Invited speakers include:

General Carroll H. “Howie” Chandler Commander
Pacific Air Forces

Lt. Gen. David A. Deptula
Deputy Chief of Staff
Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance

Lt. Gen. E. P. Smith, USA (Ret.)
Director
Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies

Lt. Gen. John T. “Tom” Sheridan
Commander
Space Missile Center

Dr. Rebecca Grant, President
IRIS Independent Research

General C. Robert “Bob” Kehler
Commander
Air Force Space Command

General Kevin P. Chilton
Commander
United States Strategic Command

The Symposium will be held on Thursday, November 20, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and will continue on Friday, November 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Annual Air Force Ball will be held Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. Since it is important for AFA leaders to have the opportunity to attend the symposium, a special “AFA Leader” registration fee for National Officers, Region Presidents, Directors, State and Chapter Officers and Designees has been established. A registration form is enclosed.

If you plan to stay at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, please call the hotel directly to make reservations as soon as possible at (310) 274-7777 or 800-HILTONS. Mention the AFA Symposium to receive the special symposium rate of $245 (single or double) plus taxes, which are currently 14.05% plus a 1.37% surcharge. You may also visit: http://www.hilton.com/en/hi/groups/personalized/LAXBHHH-AFAT-20081118/index.jhtml, to make your reservations online.
