AFA’s 2009 Global Warfare Symposium will be held in Los Angeles, CA, November 19-20, 2009, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

AFA will repeat last year’s successful two-day format, part of the evolution of this Symposium’s emphasis from Space to Global Warfare. Topics include Space, Cyberspace, Unmanned Aerial Systems, the Pacific, and the Air Force’s global responsibilities. We have invited multiple speakers to inform our audience on these topics, and we look forward to hosting the top echelon of USAF senior management and commanders, the aerospace community, and academia.

Invited speakers include:

Michael Donley, Secretary of the Air Force

Neil Sheehan, author, A Fiery Peace in a Cold War

Gen Bruce Carlson (Ret), former Commander, AF Materiel Command; heads the National Reconnaissance Office

Gen Frank Klotz, Commander AF Global Strike Command

Gen Lance Lord (Ret), former Commander, AF Space Command

Maj Gen Richard Webber, Commander, 24th Air Force

Lt Gen Gary North, Commander, AF Pacific Command

Lt Gen John T. “Tom” SheridanCommander, Space Missile Center

Gen C. Robert “Bob” KehlerCommander, Air Force Space Command

Gen Kevin P. ChiltonCommander, United States Strategic Command

The symposium will be held on Thursday, November 19, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and will continue on Friday, November 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Annual Air Force Ball will be held Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. Since it is important for AFA leaders to have the opportunity to attend the symposium, a special “AFA Leader” registration fee for National Officers, Region Presidents, Directors, State and Chapter Officers and designees has been established. Registration will open in early September. Once registration is open, more details will follow.

If you plan to stay at The Beverly Hilton, please call the hotel directly to make reservations as soon as possible at (310) 274-7777 or 800-HILTONS. Mention the AFA symposium to receive the special symposium rate of $255 (single or double) plus taxes, which are currently 14.05% plus a 1.37% surcharge. You may also visit: http://www.hilton.com/en/hi/groups/personalized/LAXBHHH-AFTT-20091116/index.jhtml to make your reservations online.
