Are You Using Your Online Resources?

There is a wealth of information and resources located on www.afa.org in the “Field Resources” section. This brief note highlights three of these in particular that every chapter should be using routinely.

• Unit Reports Received/Paid. Chapter leaders should check here to be sure national headquarters has received all of the material required for quarterly payments to be made – and has issued the check
• Membership Reports (Quarterly and Monthly). Your chapter membership person in particular will want to track the new member “credit” the chapter has received and any “extras” it has built up so that you can set your target for each quarter
• Chapter Rosters. One person in your chapter should have access to the monthly rosters so that you can track new members – both chapter recruited and automatically affiliated – as well as departing and expiring members. Experience has shown that both large and small chapters – and everything in between – can benefit from routinely downloading and analyzing these lists. They then use them in a variety of ways – welcoming new people, adding an extra “sell” to retain expired or expiring members, managing Community Partners and so on. If you’re not doing this now, give it a try.
