Operating Hours

The Memorial is free and open to the public every day of the year except Christmas Day.
April 1st - September 30th: 8 a.m. – 11 p.m.
October 1st - March 31st: 8 a.m. – 9 p.m.
 

The Administrative Office with Gift Shop is open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

From Maryland

Take MD-295 heading south. Continue onto MD-201 (crossing into District of Columbia). Continue onto District of Columbia Hwy 295. Take the exit onto I-695 W. Merge onto I-695 W. Continue onto I-395 S and cross into Virginia. Take exit 8A for VA-27/Washington Blvd toward Pentagon South Parking/S Arl Ridge Rd. Keep right at the fork and merge onto VA-27 W/S Washington Blvd. Take the VA-244 E/Columbia Pike Ramp to Navy Annex. Turn right onto VA-244 E/Columbia Pike. Turn left onto Air Force Memorial Drive. Parking for the Memorial is along the left side of the driveway for cars and in the turn-around area for buses.

From Downtown D.C.

Take I-395 S toward Virginia. Take exit 8A for VA-27/Washington Blvd toward Pentagon South Parking/S Arl Ridge Rd. Keep right at the fork and merge onto VA-27 W/S Washington Blvd. Take the VA-244 E/Columbia Pike Ramp to Navy Annex. Turn right onto VA-244 E/Columbia Pike. Turn left onto Air Force Memorial Drive. Parking for the Memorial is along the left side of the driveway for cars and in the turn-around area for buses.

From Virginia

Take I-395 N. Take exit 8A to merge onto S Washington Blvd toward Columbia Pike. Take the VA-244 E/Columbia Pike ramp to Navy Annex. Turn right onto VA-244 E/Columbia Pike. Turn left onto Air Force Memorial Drive. Parking for the Memorial is along the left side of the driveway for cars and in the turn-around area for buses.


Public Transportation

The Memorial can be reached using public transportation either by traveling by Metro and walking or by traveling by Metro and bus. The Memorial is accessible by Washington D.C.'s Metro system on the blue and yellow lines. For real time updates, use Metro's Trip Planner. Enter your beginning Metro stop, and then enter "Air Force Memorial" as your destination. This will provide a trip using rail and bus. Your trip can be conveniently paid for and completed using Metro's SmarTrip card (Using the paper fare cards instead will add $1 to each trip). If you prefer to walk after taking the metro, then arrive at either Pentagon City or Pentagon metro stops and walk the remaining way. 

Metrorail

If you are walking after taking the Metro, then follow these steps:
Pentagon City Station (1 mile walk) – Exit on west side of Hayes Street. Walk north on Hayes to Army Navy Drive. Take a left on Army Navy Drive. Take Army Navy Drive to Joyce Street. Take a right on Joyce Street. Cross underneath I-395 on Joyce Street. Take a left on Columbia Pike. Walk up the hill. The Memorial's entrance is in the 1400 block of Columbia Pike.
Pentagon Station (1.1 mile walk) – Exit the station. Walk west through the Pentagon South Parking lot (Rotary Road). Continue onto Columbia Pike. Walk up the hill. The Memorial's entrance is in the 1400 block of Columbia Pike.

Bus

If you are transferring from the Metro to a bus stop to reach the Memorial, then follow these steps:
Navy Annex Stop
- There are several buses that stop at the Navy Annex, which is approximately one block west from the Memorial.
- All of the Metro #16 buses stop in front of Navy Annex at Stop ID #6000305. To find which bus route works best for you please visit the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority’s website.
