JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Field Relations, in the Member and Field Relations Department, the Community Support Coordinator provides administrative support to the overall Member and Field Relations team. The Coordinator plays a key customer service role with AFA members, Field leaders and program beneficiaries. This position is responsible for development activities and administrative support and tracking for the process.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Customer Service (approximately 30% of effort)
· Monitors and responds to incoming emails and phone calls for AFA Field Relations
· Serves as a member of the Membership customer service call group to assist with incoming calls from current or potential members
Data Entry and Fulfillment (approximately 30% of effort):
· Process all Community Partner batches and mailings
· Manage AFA’s magazine subscriptions to include batch processing and data integrity
· Conducts data processing related to data integrity efforts and membership acquisition
Event and Program Support (approximately 30% of effort)
· Manage all aspects of AFA’s Field Awards Program to include supporting the National Awards Committee, collecting nominations, announcing award winners and ordering awards
· Manage all aspects of the Field Awards Dinner to include invitations, RSVPs, awards presentations, and scripts
· Serves as back up for AFA’s Wounded Airman Program manager
Other Duties as assigned (approximately 10% of effort):
· Additional duties as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Works out of Air Force Association’s headquarters in Arlington, VA.
· Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, subject to modification based on the needs of each program or site.
· Operates in a professional office environment with travel to local offices, community partners, and events.
Physical Demands:
· The position requires sedentary work (sitting most of the time with no adverse environmental exposure) and occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. The position also includes the following physical requirements:
· Movement. The employee in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
· The employee in this position needs to be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a copy machine and printer.
· The employee is required to communicate and hold verbal conversations with others by means of the spoken word. Employee must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience Required:
· Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business Administration or a related field or equivalent work experience
Education and Experience Preferred:
· Customer service experience required; nonprofit or military support experience preferred
Certifications & Licenses Required:
· None.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
· Experience with databases and ability to learn quickly; Salesforce experience preferred
· Ability to adapt and excel in a fast-paced work environment
· Excellent verbal and written communications skills
· Ability to problem-solve and develop short and long-term solutions
· Ability to be creative and assist in marketing initiatives
· Strong organizational and ethical practices
· Proficient with Microsoft Office and familiar with or able to learn additional business software
