ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Program Development and Administration (approximate 70% of effort):
- Develop new programs that support the strategic direction of AFA
- Set the vision and manage execution for future online learning and training content
- Organizing programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization
- Identify opportunities, monitor trends, and explore innovative solutions to capture learning opportunities and leverage prospects that drive premier leadership events and to advance the educational services of the DLC
- Build trusting relationships with potential clients at all levels, federal, state, local provide thought partnership, meet agreed-upon milestones and keep them informed of the DLC progress
- Ongoing management throughout the program life cycle, produce accurate and timely reporting of program status
- Create an evaluation method to assess program strengths, analyzing risk, training impact metrics and outcomes
- Provide consultation on other relevant current training sources, identify creative opportunities, along with new models/approaches to advance DLC services and negotiate proposals
- Implement and manage changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved
Business Development (approximate 20% of effort:
- In careful coordination with appropriate AFA staff, Field, and governance functions, develop DLC fundraising strategies, processes, and management tools
- Developing strategies and processes to pursue successfully government grants and other government funding sources
- Draft, coordinate, and prepare for approval grant applications and funding agreements from foundations and other philanthropic sources
- Support business development for DLC/AFA through leveraging diverse networks along with identifying, building, and cultivating new partnerships
- Oversee client relationships & quality experience of the DLC
- Point of contact with customers/clients to arrange meetings, confirm program schedules, and discuss any program problems
- Coordinates the operation of departments to confirm that assigned programs are completed according to specifications, budgets, and timelines
- Forecasts potential schedule delays and develops alternate plans
Other Duties as assigned (approximate 10% of effort):
- Responsively executes other tasks as requested in support of AFA strategic interests
REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience Required: · Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent · At least 10 years of programmatic work experience at a mid or senior level required Education and Experience Preferred: · Experience in the Air Force, or military · Master’s degree in education, instructional design or curriculum program design Certifications & Licenses Preferred:
- CPTM Certified Professional Training Management
- ATD/CPTD Association Training Development Certified Professional Training Development
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Strong business acumen with the ability to think in a variety of business environments
- Knowledgeable of Air Force and other military protocol
- Superior communications skills; writing, editing and proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize work and meet short- and long-term deadlines

- Knowledgeable of curriculum and design
