TERMS OF USE

This Terms of Use Agreement is a contract between you and the Air Force Association (“AFA”). All transactions, activities and all other uses of this Web site at AFA.org (“Web site”) are covered by this Agreement. Use of this site is also addressed by AFA’s Privacy Policy.  By using the AFA Web site, you agree to be bound by this Agreement, regardless of whether you are a member of AFA.  If you do not agree, you should leave the Web site and discontinue use of the services provided on the Web site.

ACCESS AND USE

The contents of this Web site are for personal, non-commercial purposes. Information contained on this Website may not be used for commercial purposes including personal contact information of the AFA leadership, members, suppliers and business partners and staff. 

LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY

You understand that you assume all risk of using this Website. The site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. AFA expressly disclaims all warranties of any kind with respect to the site, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and noninfringement. AFA makes no warranty that the site and/or any content therein will meet your requirements, or will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, current, accurate, complete or error-free or that the results that may be obtained by use of the site and/or any content therein will be accurate or reliable. You understand and acknowledge that your sole and exclusive remedy with respect to any defect in or dissatisfaction with the site is to cease using the Website.

COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT

If you believe that any material contained on this Web site infringes your copyright, you should notify the AFA. The AFA will take appropriate action about claims of infringement that it receives and will take appropriate action as required by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and other applicable intellectual property laws.

TERM

This Agreement will remain in full force and effect while you use the Web site or its Content as well as after your status as a user ceases. The AFA shall have the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate access rights to this site to any party.

FURTHER PROVISIONS

This Agreement contains the entire agreement between you and the AFA about the use of the AFA Web site. If any provision of this Agreement is held invalid, the remainder of this Agreement shall continue in full force and effect.

This Agreement may be modified by AFA in its sole discretion from time to time.

Scope of AFA Data Privacy Policy

Policies and practices described below apply only to this Website.  This site was created and is maintained by AFA national headquarters to serve its members and further its mission.  Some AFA chapters may be provided with their own area of this website.  AFA chapters are separate not for profit organizations.  The AFA data privacy policy does cover the parts of this AFA website that are provided to and created and maintained by individual chapters who have agreed to follow the AFA Data Privacy Policy.  The AFA Data Privacy Policy does not include non-AFA Websites, some of which may be maintained by chapters of AFA.

Training Materials and Logs

Material for vendors/partners/chapters/staff that is stored on this site is also subject to this AFA Data Privacy Policy.

Audit of the policy

AFA maintains and updates the AFA Data Privacy Policy as required by applicable regulation and as it sees fit in its sole discretion.

The Information We Collect and Store

We may collect and store information from you when you visit the AFA Website.

  1. Information You Provide to AFA
    When you use the AFA Website to create an account, AFA collects some personal information, such as your name, chapter affiliation, phone number, e-mail address, rank, and home or business postal addresses. By providing this information to the Air Force Association, you release the Air Force Association from any liability in relation to the security of this information. AFA encrypts the transmission of Sensitive Information, for your protection, using secure socket layer technology (SSL). Credit card information that is entered into this site is not stored on this site.

  2. Log Data
    When you use the AFA Web site, we may record information about your online sessions including your Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, the Web page visited before you came to the AFA Web site, information you search for on the AFA Web site, locale, date and time stamps of transactions, system configuration information and metadata, and other use of the AFA Web site.
  3. Cookies
    We use “cookies” to ensure you are able to log in to the site and remain logged in for your session. A cookie is a small text file.  It records only your session identification information. No personally identifying information is stored in the cookies that are used by the AFA. 

How AFA Uses Personal Information 

  1. Analytics
    AFA collects some information (ourselves or using third-party services) using logging and cookies, which can sometimes be correlated with personal information. We use this information for the purposes described in this document and to monitor and analyze use of the Web site.  This is done for the purpose of improving technical administration, functionality, and user-friendliness.

    As you use the AFA Web site, we may collect personal information that can be used to contact or identify you.   Other than as described in this document, your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, without your consent.

  1. Third-Party Websites
    At our discretion, we may include links to third-party Web sites. These third-party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. 

  2. Service Providers, Business Partners, and Others
    We may use some third-party companies to help us to, analyze, and improve the Web site including but not limited to data storage, maintenance services, database management, Web analytics, and payment processing. These third parties may have access to your information for purposes of performing these tasks and in compliance with obligations similar to those in this Privacy Policy.

    In addition to sending information about member benefits directly to you, AFA sometimes shares your contact information with third-party member benefit providers that work on behalf of AFA.  These providers are limited to using AFA membership data only for the purposes that AFA authorizes.  AFA allows these third parties to have access to your information only for the purposes of performing these tasks on behalf of the AFA.

  3. Compliance with Laws and Law Enforcement Requests; Protection of Air Force Association’s Rights

    We may disclose data stored in AFA databases and information about you that we collect when we have a good faith belief that disclosure is reasonably necessary to:

    1. comply with a law, regulation or compulsory legal request
    2. prevent fraud or abuse of the Air Force Association, or its members
    3. protect Air Force Association’s property rights 

AFA Data Security

We follow best practices to protect your information that is submitted to us. This Web site is scanned regularly for security vulnerabilities and is also PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliant as determined by a PCI ASV (Payment Card Industry Approved Scanning Vendor). Storing or transmitting electronic data  is not 100% secure. Therefore, AFA cannot guarantee its absolute security. Changes to this policy will be made from time to time and posted to the AFA Website.
