The AFA Affinity Relationships Manager is responsible for identifying, establishing, developing and driving successful, productive relationships and revenue growth with our affinity relationship partners, including corporate members, agents, brokers, and other sources of business. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Identifying and researching new types of affinity partnerships. Also bringing aboard new AFA affinity relationships and more importantly maintaining existing relationships

Tracking affinity partner financial performance and pro-actively adjusting strategies and tactics to leverage opportunities, revenue generation and the alignment of the AFA brand. Execute activities and projects relative to business development, campaign management and brand building for AFA and its membership.

Maintaining Overall Partner Relations (approximately 50% of effort)

  • Experience contributing on a high performing fine association marketing/sales team in a high growth, fast paced environment.

Administrative Support and Database Administration (approximately 40% of effort)

  • Maintain development files for key stakeholders
  • Set parameters and run weekly, monthly, annual, and on-demand reports. 
  • Enter development transactions and maintain up-to-date contact information.
  • Ensure development data integrity and accuracy of reports.
  • Providing support for developing marketing content as needed

Other Duties as assigned (approximately 10% of effort)

  • Other tasks as assigned


  • Works out of Air & Space Forces Association’s headquarters in Arlington, VA.
  • Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, subject to modification based on the needs of each program or site.
  • Operates in a professional office environment with travel to local offices, community partners, and events.

Physical Demands:

  • The position requires sedentary work (sitting most of the time with no adverse environmental exposure) and occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. The position also includes the following physical requirements:
  • Movement. The employee in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • The employee in this position needs to be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a copy machine and printer.
  • The employee is required to communicate and hold verbal conversations with others by means of the spoken word. Employee must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing or related field or equivalent work experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years of successful relationship/account management/sales experience in the membership organizations.
  • Demonstrated Affinity Partnership Management expertise
  • Salesforce or other CRM administration experience or ability to build competency quickly.
  • Ability to manage data entry efficiently and accurately.
  • Ability to effectively utilize interpersonal skills and reliable information when working with internal customers, team members, and external stakeholders to accomplish project goals.
  • Strong customer service orientation and skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to consistently attend to details and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to consistently handle telephone and email requests in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Ability and commitment to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Technical support, analytical, and problem-solving skills, or ability to develop them.
