Registration: vAWS Information

  1. How much is the virtual event? vAWS registration rates can be found on the 'Symposium Rates' tab at https://vaws2021.expotracker.net/.
  2. What will virtual registration include? There are 2 options available - participating in the Virtual Aerospace Warfare Symposium (includes Mission Domain Hub) or participating in the Mission Domain Hub only.
    • Symposium registration includes over 35 sessions (a combination of live-streamed presentations, live-streamed Mission Domain Engagement Sessions, and on-demand recordings). Live-streamed sessions will begin streaming the mornings of 2/24, 2/25, and 2/26; they will be archived as an on-demand recording within one business day of initial airing. New on-demand sessions will be released daily in the mornings, as well as by noon EST the day they are listed on the agenda. All sessions will be available to view through the virtual platform until May 31, 2021.
    • The Mission Domain Hub will offer attendees access to mission domain focus areas, the content of which will be displayed through interactive demonstration pages. The Mission Domain Hub will be available to view through the virtual platform February 22 - May 31, 2021.
  3. Can I add an additional person to my registration? You can add a person to your registration if they meet certain criteria.  (Please note the following criteria do not apply to group sponsor/partner registrations). "Add a Person" is provided as a courtesy to our registrants to allow spouses and "significant others" to participate in the symposium to the same degree and at the same per-person price as the registrant. As such, it may be used only for spouses or bona fide "significant others." It may not be applied to registration for a co-worker, colleague, friend, or a family member other than a spouse.
  4. Are there any age limitations to participation in vAWS? vAWS is unable to accommodate participants younger than 17.
  5. Can I substitute for someone? Due to accounting processes, substitutions are not allowed. Individuals may be canceled (see cancellation policy below) and new individuals may register under their own e-mail address.
  6. What does it cost to cancel? Registration changes or cancellations can be made online through Friday, February 19, 2021. Cancellations through Friday, February 19th will receive a full refund of registration fees less a $25 non-refundable processing fee to cancel (if applicable) and any membership fees and/or donations. NO refunds will be granted for cancellations made after Friday, February 19th. No refunds will be issued if you do not attend the event. Substitutions are not allowed, please cancel the registration and register new participants. After February 19th, please address cancellations to the attention of Katie Storm by email to kstorm@afa.org. This policy does not apply to sponsor/partner agreements. Please refer to the application/contract form for the cancellation policy.
  7. When does online registration close? Online registration will be open through the end of March. Please note that it is best to register in advance as there may be a delay in accessing the virtual platform once the symposium begins.
  8. Do I have to be a member of AFA or the military to attend?  No, if you are not a member of AFA and/or not currently serving active duty military or reserves, or current Department of Defense civil service employee, please choose the Non-Member option when registering.

Virtual Platform

  1. Where do I find the Virtual Platform URL? Starting the morning (EST) of February 22nd, login instructions for the vAWS virtual platform from mobilesolutions@psav.live will be sent to the registrant’s email provided during registration. PLEASE NOTE: ONLY the primary email address on your registration record will receive an email in the days leading up to the event with login instructions, a unique password, and the link to vAWS. The secondary email address will receive all other email communication with the exception of the platform login instructions. Please make sure to add mobilesolutions@psav.live to your “Safe Sender” list (not spam) in your email account. If you just registered for vAWS, it may take up to 5 minutes to receive the login instruction email.
  2. Is there anything I need to know about connecting to the virtual platform? Registrants will only be able to login on one device at a time. No software or applications need to be downloaded to access the virtual platform; however, it is highly recommended that you whitelist vAWS2021.us.chime.live to alleviate any security connection issues. 3. I just registered for vAWS or made a change to my registration, now what? Registrants should expect a short delay between completing registration (or updating an email address or participation level) and access to the virtual platform. This means that even though you may have completed (or updated) online vAWS registration, you will not have immediate access to the virtual platform.
    • For new registrations, it may take up to 5 minutes to receive login instructions for the vAWS virtual platform from our service provider. PLEASE NOTE: ONLY the primary email address on your registration record will receive an email with login instructions, a unique password, and the link to vAWS. The secondary email address will receive all other email communication with the exception of the platform login instructions. Please make sure to add mobilesolutions@chime.live and mobilesolutions@psav.live to your “Safe Sender” list (not spam) in your email account.
    • For an email address change made to an existing registration, the update may take up to 5 minutes. There will not be a new login instruction email sent. You will just need to log back into the virtual platform after 5 minutes using the new email address.
    • For a participation level change made to an existing registration, the update may take up to 5 minutes. There will not be a new login instruction email sent. You will just need to log back into the virtual platform after 5 minutes.

    • What if the details mentioned above do not show once I have logged in? It means your registration has yet to be completed. Please complete your registration by either making a selection, making a payment, and/or pressing ‘Finish’ or ‘Process Payment’ based on your registration selections.
  5. If I am unable to watch some/all of the live segments. When can I watch what I missed? Live sessions that are streamed on 2/24, 2/25, and 2/26 will be archived as an on-demand recording within one business day of initial airing.
