Gerald R. Murray
Chairman of the Board

Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force (retired) Gerald Murray has been involved with AFA as a board member, chapter president and delegate for 15 years.
Murray also serves on the USAA Board of Directors, the Air Force Museum Foundation Board of Trustees, the Air Force Enlisted Village Board of Directors, and the Airmen Memorial Foundation Board of Directors. In previous years, he served on the Air Force University Board of Visitors, Armed Forces Benefit Association Board of Directors, and as Co-Chairman of the Air Force Retiree Council.
After retiring from 29 years of distinguished military service, Murray worked for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics for 12 years where he was the Director, Air Combat Support and Sustainment Operations.
Gerald earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Saint Leo University and an associate’s of applied science in aircraft systems maintenance technology from the Community College of the Air Force.
His military decorations and awards include the Distinguished Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, four Air Force Meritorious Service Medals, and three Air Force Commendation Medals. Additionally, he was the 1991 recipient of the Air Force General Lew Allen Trophy and 2012 recipient of a Lockheed Martin Aero Star Award.
Gerald and his wife Sherry live in Kings Mountain, North Carolina and have three children, two daughters-in-law and five grandchildren.
