Advocacy Update

Session Description: In this session you’ll review the following: What is Advocacy and why it is important for the AFA to Advocate. status of the FY 25 Legislative positions and you’ll look ahead for FY 26 and how you can help!

The Chapter Health Initiative: Building Stronger Chapters and Field Leaders

Room: Chesapeake 2
Speaker: Janelle Stafford
Session Description: In this workshop, we will discuss findings and recommendations by a small working group of young Chapter leaders on the following topics:

• What do we want our Chapters to be: Issues and barriers to chapter growth and success
• Membership: Issues and barriers to attracting younger AFA members/leaders
• The relevancy, clarity and application of our three AFA mission pillars.

Understanding and Supporting Space Force Guardians at the Chapter Level

Room: Chesapeake A
Speaker: Todd Freece
Session Description: Learn the organization and focus of the Space Force and its Guardians. With this information chapter leaders can develop activity and outreach plans to support these members of the Department of the Air Force.
