The Air Force Ball was first held in 1972.  Since then, nearly $4 million has been received to support aerospace education and scholarships at the local and national level.  Through this support, the Air Force Association and the Schriever Education Foundation award scholarships and grants to elementary, secondary and college level students and educators at the local level, and at the national level, Eagle Grants are awarded to graduates of the Community College of the Air Force who are pursing bachelor’s degrees.  Also, over 100,000 elementary school students nationwide participate in the Visions of Exploration that encourages math and science interest in the classrooms.  The annual Air Force Ball is an important contributor to both.  In accordance with Section 501 (c)(3) of the IRS code, donations to these nonprofit organizations are tax deductible.
