AFA’s Mitchell Institute Launches Advanced Concepts Engagement Seminars Initiative

Arlington, Va. – The Air Force Association (AFA) announced today that its Mitchell Institute for Aerospace Studies has held its first two Advanced Concepts Engagement Seminars (ACES).

Held at classified levels, the seminars work to more rapidly integrate advanced technologies into the development and fielding of Air Force weapons systems, counter threats and hold enemy targets at risk.

The first seminar was hosted by the AFA Langley Chapter along with Air Combat Command and defense industry leadership, focusing on directed energy, autonomous systems and artificial intelligence, hypersonics and electronic warfare technologies.

AFA Nation’s Capital Chapter, in partnership with Boeing, hosted the second event focusing on hypersonic technologies.

Two additional ACES events are planned for 2018, targeting advanced concepts and technology opportunities in command and control (C2) and contested space operations.
