Aerospace Education Council: August 2024

August 30, 2024

There’s first light in the dawn of a new era for our Association. After 40 years in 1501 Langston (formerly Lee) Blvd., our staff is moving into our new facility at 1201 S. Joyce St near Pentagon Row.

The National Convention and the Air, Space, & Cyber Conference will occupy staff’s every waking moment through September, but then the work begins to settle in and discover what this newly renovated space can enable. The question for us is, “Where can we take our Education programs, given these new capabilities?” Streaming services, improved event space, ease of access to education assets (e.g., NASA and the Air & Space Museum). How can we integrate these new capabilities with the reach of our chapters and their members to enhance the value of our programs and to support AFA’s mission?

One way to support the Educate pillar of our mission is to attend an Arnold Air Society/ Silver Wings Regional Conclave. I strongly urge all Chapters, States and Regions to make every effort to attend. These are the locations and schedule.

Daytona Beach, Fla. October 4-6 Embry-Riddle University
Clemson, S.C. October 11-13 Clemson University
Columbus, Ohio October 11-13 The Ohio State University
Minneapolis, Minn. October 18-20 University of Minneapolis
Prescott, Ariz. October 18-20 Embry-Riddle University

Moving and change are part of life; elections and conventions come every year; the critical nature of our mission endures.
