AFA Applauds Nomination of Meink as Next SECAF
January 16, 2025
ARLINGTON, Va., Jan. 16, 2025 — The Air & Space Forces Association applauds the nomination of Dr. Troy Meink as the next Secretary of the Air Force. Dr. Meink brings proven experience and knowledge to the role, including as an Air Force officer and as Deputy Director of the NRO—experiences that will help him guide the Department of the Air Force into the future.
“These are crucial times for the Air & Space Forces, and we are pleased to see such a skilled and experienced individual selected to lead the department,” said AFA President & CEO Lt. Gen. Burt Field. “The Space Force has built a fine foundation in its first five years but is now set for a major growth phase as it builds a more resilient and capable future. Our Air Force, now 77 years old and still the greatest in the world, is in dire need of modernization, increased combat capacity, and improved combat readiness. President Trump’s focus on ‘Peace Through Strength’ is the right message for the times, and there is much work to be done to build up U.S. Air and Space Power to the levels necessary to ensure their deterrent effect.”
AFA looks forward to working with the future secretary to promote the power of Air and Space as foundational elements of American National Security.
