AFA Congratulates Brown on Confirmation to be 21st Chairman of the Joint Chiefs

I extend my sincerest congratulations to Gen. Charles Q. Brown, Jr., on his confirmation to be the next Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He is a true thought leader, with deep knowledge of the Indo-Pacific area of operations. General Brown understands the threat posed by China and has made it his mission to accelerate change to ensure we not only maintain our technological advantage, but that our service members are up to the immense challenges they might face in a conflict against a peer competitor.

It’s been 18 years since an Airman has served as the senior military advisor to the President and Secretary of Defense. The perspective General Brown will bring to this senior leadership role is vital as we shift our attention to our pacing threat, China. The Air & Space Forces Association also would like to thank the Senate for moving forward with this critical nomination, and we look forward to further confirmations of the Nation’s most experienced joint warfighters.
